Bordetella (Canine Kennel Cough)

Kennel Cough or Tracheobronchitis, is most commonly associated with an upper respiratory infection caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica.

Usually, a dog will become sick within a week of being exposed to Bordetella.  Kennel Cough is the most common respiratory disease in dogs and can be transmitted from dog to dog via airborne particles, human handling, (coughing/sneezing), water bowls, and multi-dog environments, such as kennels, dog parks, groomers, etc.  Kennel cough is highly contagious.   MOST BOARDING FACILITIES REQUIRE A VACCINATION AGAINST KENNEL COUGH PRIOR TO BOARDING

Safe for use in healthy pregnant females & healthy puppies 3 weeks or older.  Intranasal boosters are recommended every 6 months; injectable boosters every 12 months.   Intranasal vaccination should be administered at least 1 week prior to when required; injectable vaccination should be administered at least 2 weeks prior to when required.
Rabies (Dogs and Cats)

Dogs & cats:  3 months of age or older with a 2nd dose given 1yr  later. Follow up with a booster once every 3 yrs.

Dogs, 3 months of age and older, are required by LAW to have been vaccinated against rabies.
Adult dogs with no previous documented history of having received a Rabies vaccination must be revaccinated in one year.
Tests:

Heartworm
A heartworm test is required prior to prescribing a heartworm preventative.  This test takes approximately 8 minutes.

If your puppy is less than 6 monts old, normally, the pupply will not require a heartworm test.
