Felvaxyn* FeLV vaccine is recommended for the vaccination of healthy cats as an aid in the prevention of lymphoid tumors caused by, and diseases associated with, feline leukemia virus (FeLV) infection. Vaccination with this product prevents persistent viremia in cats exposed to virulent feline leukemia virus.
Fevaxyn FeLV contains a tissue culture derived feline leukemia virus, Subgroups A and B. The virus has been chemically inactivated and combined with a proprietary adjuvant designed to enhance the immune response.
2 doses are required for primary immunization.
Initial vaccination: 9 weeks of age or older.
Second vaccination: 3-4 weeks after the first. Annual revaccination with 1 dose recommended.
Feline Leukemia test required prior to vaccination
Rabies (Dogs and Cats)
Dogs & cats: 3 months of age or older with a 2nd dose given 1 yr later. Follow up with a booster once every 3 yrs.
All Dogs, 3 months of age and older are required by LAW to have been vaccinated against rabies.
Adult dogs with no previous documented history of having received a Rabies Vaccination must be revaccinated in one year. Tests:
Feline Leukemia
Prior to your cat being vaccinated against feline leukemia a feline leukemia test will be necessary. This test takes approximately 6 minutes.
